China investigates Didi Global for cybersecurity issues protect national security and the public interest. The investigation was announced just two days after the Chinese ride hailing giant started trading in the the New York Stock Exchange.
During the investigation, it was announced by Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) that new users are not allowed to register on Didi but besides that, it is allowed to operate normally. The cybersecurity issues that is concerned by the regulators is whether the data collected by these tech giants are collect, store or handled properly. The investigation was also done to prevent data security-related risks to happen to the organization which could cost them to suffer their clients data leaked to cyber criminals.
