While many countries are still battling the Covid-19 pandemic, there is also another war almost every country is trying to curb – cyberattacks. The escalating cyberattacks and cyber crimes has led to the leaders of two powerhouses – US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin – meeting to discuss cybersecurity at the Biden-Putin Summit. This comes after Biden wanted to create an international coalition to hold to account the countries that are harbouring hackers, who are standing behind ransomware attacks.
Taking cue from the summit, the National Security Agency (NSA), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) released a Cybersecurity Advisory today exposing malicious cyber activities by Russian military intelligence against U.S. and global organizations.
The advisory can be viewed here.
