KUALA LUMPUR, June 11, 2021 – GIB Capital Group is investing US$500,000 (US$1=RM4.11) from a trust fund partnership with Digital Bank Exchange Asia to establish new cybersecurity centres in Kuala Lumpur and Cambodia.

Chief executive officer Michael Thompson said Malaysia and Cambodia have been experiencing an increase in threats and cyberattacks, necessitating a larger cybersecurity presence in these locations.

“Cybersecurity experts and specialists in GIB Capital Group have implemented blockchain technology to enhance future data encryption.

“Moreover, the robust systems at the centres ensure the safety and security of the users’ encrypted data as soon as they log in,” he said in a statement, today.

Thompson said new approaches such as cloud data transferability and modern cryptography have been implemented to maintain their new security system.

“As such, the facilities in both Malaysia and Cambodia are equipped with a networking laboratory where cybersecurity specialists can monitor the whole system for any threats while providing insights from services provided by GIB Capital Group.

“Ultimately, despite an increase in threats towards the networking system, the new cybersecurity solutions will ensure that GIB Capital Group’s networking system, including its cloud storage, are secured,” he said.

Meanwhile, Digital Bank Exchange Asia associate director Colson Baker said the company aims to show the public the importance of maintaining the best cybersecurity technology.

“We are committed to giving our best to fulfill the needs of modern industries today while helping users to connect and log in easily,” he added.
