Kuala Lumpur, September 25: Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Huawei Malaysia) and Serba Dinamik Group Berhad (Serba Dinamik) have teamed up to explore and develop innovative digital solutions, digital industry and smart campuses in Malaysia.
The digital industry includes a digital platform for education; a smart living ecosystem and automation for manufacturing.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place at Double Tree by Hilton here today.
Both companies joining hands will see benefits in transcending the oil and gas industry, innovative IT solutions on Cloud and to “reach the unreached” by digitally connecting those in rural areas.
Setting up smart industry areas in Sarawak and Johor, is also part of the development plan.
“Huawei’s vision and mission are to bring digital to every person, home and organization for a fully connected and intelligent world.
“We believe that through this partnership with Serba Dinamik, we will be able to drive ubiquitous connectivity and bring cloud and AI to every corner of Malaysia, reaching the previously unreached.
“Huawei is one of the players in the industry that is able to provide a complete set of end-to-end ICT solutions, the essential building blocks in creating a Smart Campus.
“These solutions include a cutting-edge combination of cloud computing, Internet of Things technologies (IoT), big data analysis and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“Our Cloud and AI will provide easy to use platforms and a solid technological foundation for Serba Dinamik and Huawei to jointly develop digital solutions,” said Michael Yuan, CEO of Huawei Malaysia.
Yuan, also stressed that partnerships like these are crucial for the success of such initiatives.
Fostering Innovation and Talent Development in the region
CEO of Serba Dinamik’s Group Berhad, Dato Dr. Ir. Ts. Mohd Abdul Karim Bin Abdullah said the collaboration between the two companies will develop a strong cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem that could foster innovation and talent development in the region.
“We are excited to establish this ground-breaking partnership between Serba Dinamik and Huawei.
“The combined expertise and technical capabilities of the two companies will provide a strong foundation to position Serba Dinamik as an AI innovation hub,”
“These are also exciting times for Serba Dinamik as we continue our international expansion plan. We are developing a strong foothold in the region and this agreement is an important step for us as we further establish our presence in Asia,” commented Dato Karim.
Part of the arrangement, both companies will set up a joint working group to develop smart city innovations in Malaysia by providing strategic and technical expertise, Dato Karim highlighted.
“On top of that, we have also provided value-added solutions by adopting IR 4.0 element to help asset owners achieve better performance and productivity such as with the use of AI and data analytics pillars”, he said.
MDEC welcomes the partnership to drive digital innovation continuity
Meanwhile, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Investment Development Vice President, Hew Wee Choong, said that the digital transformation was the driving force for economic development and it is in line with MDEC’s goals to drive continued digital innovation, expand the country’s vibrant digital ecosystem and be positioned as the digital hub of the ASEAN region.
“There is an increasing need for industries and organizations to be digitally transformed in order to be more agile, efficient, dynamic and competitive. Collaborations like these are needed to build digital platforms to help businesses in that direction,” he added.
