Phishing is a method used by bad actors to lure in information, but what they do with the information is usually up to them. Head of threat intelligence at Insights, Paul Prudhomme, believes that the information that they reeled in could be traded for money and some of them even being state sponsored tries to gain the information for political reason.

Whatever the reasons are, the attack method for phishing is still the same. They will lure by email so that the unsuspected users could not resist and attached a malicious link to it. Once a victim clicks on the link then the bad actors will have control.
