SHAH ALAM, 1 May 2021 – Selangor will have the biggest E-sports city in the Southeast Asia region which is expected to be operational by 2022.  

According to the Exco State Government, Human Capital Development and Young Generation & Sports, Mohd Khairuddin Othman, the development of the Selangor E-sports City will develop homegrown world-class talent infrastructure, talent development program and talent profiling system.

“What will happen is the government will work together with private companies and E-sports Association to build the building named as Selangor E-sports city and it will be the biggest in the Southeast Asia Region, approximately costing RM10 million,” he said during the signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Malaysia E-sports Federation (MESF), E-sports Selangor Association (ESS) and UNIMY today.

Meanwhile, Group Chief Executive Officer of Serba Dinamik Holding Berhad, Dato’ Dr. Ir. Ts Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said the company has the capability to support the infrastructure of E-sports technology in the world.

He also added that the Selangor E-sports City once completed will provide a world-class E-sports facilities, training academy, game incubator and also a E-sports themed hotel and is expected to be operational by next year.

He mentioned this is not the first time the company had ventured into E-sports because of its successful track record of the E-sports digital park in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak and another one built in Digital Parks Bangi, Selangor.

“E-sports is a global phenomenon that Serba Dinamik can leverage on to channel its expertise in the area of AI, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity and Fintech”, he said after the signing ceremony of the event.

He also added that the company is grateful to the state, Malaysia E-sports Federation (MESF) and E-sports Selangor Association (ESS) for having the trust and confidence in Serba Dinamik.

Today, it inked the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with (MESF), (ESS) and UNIMY for the purpose.

The MOU was signed by Dato’ Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah, Datuk Annanth, President of MESF, Abdul Razak Dato’ Dr. Mohd Yusof, President of ESS and UNIMY Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts Dr Mohd Razali Muhamad and it was also witnessed by Mohd Khairuddin Othman.
